Clipboard Copy and Paste

I have checked around, but I really haven't gotten a solid answer, So why can't users copy text from a document to the system clipboard and then Paste it into a text field in Abobe Flash Player document? It only seems to work in older versions of IE and with a permissions popup to allow it.

You can within the Flash Player - But if you have a text document open and from that text document you Copy some text, either edit > Copy or ctrl c which places it in the SYSTEM Clipboard

And then try to paste it into a textfield in the flash player it doesn't.

In IE 9 (or 8) I remember getting a permission popup (Do you want to allow this to have access to your system clipboard...) you checked ok and it would paste.

Now it doesn't, not in IE, Firefos, Chrome or Opera.

So to repeat this is not a problem coping and pasting text that is already in the Flash player applet it's from outside that is needed.
