Computer Problems after FP Update

This morning a box to update Adobe Flash Player appeared and I clicked to install it.  This reads Flash Player 10 Active X - version 10.1.53.64.

Now I cannot open PDF files or Adobe Acrobat Professional, or get on the Internet.  I also get "No active mixer devices available" when I click on the sound button for my PC.

I have IE 7 version of Explorer.

Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Hi, Was this from Adobe? Did it give you choices regarding Installing? You didn't say what operating system you are using, that would be helpful.

The Installation of Flash Player would have no affect on any of the problems you are describing. It just Installs into a Flash folder and an ActiveX Control in your IE add ons.

    Thanks,

Thanks. Go to Add/Remove and post back what is listed regarding Flash Player. Not sure if the version you posted came from there or not.

Then go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Open Flash and post back all files listed there. You didn't say if you use Firefox or not, but if any files NPSWF are there, then right click on each and then click Properties to obtain the version numbers.

Using IE, go to Tools, manage add ons (all add ons) and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10h.ocx and make sure it is listed and Enabled.

That will give us the info to see if Flash Player has been Installed and correctly.

    Thanks,
