Computer shutting down out of the blue!

I have been having trouble with my computer for a couple of weeks and thought it was after an Adobe update or Flash update that it started.  To make the long story as short as possible I have restored my computer to factory settings 3 times.  Each time it seemed to be after the Adobe updates that it all started.  This last time I restored my computer I decided to update windows and wait a few days.  Next, I added and updated Trend Micro and waited a few days.  Finally, last night I updated Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash.  Sure enough it has started again!  At this point that is all I have done to my computer since Saturday the 17th.  All of these updates have taken a lot of time and lack of sleep.  I would really love to get this fixed.  Taking online classes and online tests is not good with your computer shutting down out of the blue.  I also cleaned it to get all the dust out about a week ago.  Obviously that wasn't it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi ww, I just posted to you over on the other thread:-) Ok, we have XP/SP3, so at least one browser is IE. I would like for you to go to Add/Remove and post back all Adobe that is listed there. Also look for Adobe DLM(download manager) and or a getplus entry.

Then in IE, go to Tools, Manage add ons and post back any Trend Micro add ons, BHO's, ActiveX Controls or Helpers.

While there look for any listing of a getplus, get_atlcom Class, or DLM Control entry.

Also look for Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control...Flash10h.ocx, make sure it is Enabled.

If your system is not a 64bit, go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed.

If you use any non-IE browsers, the NPSWF files will need a right click and click on Properties in order to obtain the version numbers.

I need all of the above info and vs of IE you use and add'l browser info with versions as well.

    Thanks,

Ok, thanks!  I posted here because I wasn't sure if anyone would see that one or not.

In add/remove programs I have Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X & Adobe Reader 9.3.3 listed.  I don't see anything for Adobe DLM or getplus.

Under "manage add ons" I have.....

    Shockwave Flash Object

    Trend Micro Toolbar

    TSToolbar BHO

    Adobe PDF Link Helper

    Sun Java Console

    Yahoo Toolbar

    Yahoo Toolbar Helper

    Single Instance Class Yahoo

It is a AMD Athlon 64x2

    IE version is 8.0

Let me know if I left out anything.

    Thanks!

Hi, thanks. Ok so you have a 64bit system? If you didn't find any Flash folder in the System32, then go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and follow the instructions for the info posted previously. I want to see what Flash files are Installed.

Also, is the Shockwave Flash Object as I listed it and is it Enabled?

With IE8, go to Tools, Manage add ons and Toolbars & Extensions. Find the box labeled "Show" There are 4 categories, be sure to check all categories for add ons, etc. If you have Java Installed, you will have more add ons, ActiveX, etc than what you listed. It is easy to miss all of them since IE8 puts them in several places:-)

What does the TS stand for in the TS Toolbar BHO?

    Thanks,
