Question
Confusion w/BWolfe's 9/18/07 posting
BWolfe;
I read your post on 9/18/2007 reguarding the permissions-related issues and I understand it, but I'm confused about a couple of things.
First of all..I'm on Windows XP Home with SP2. The HKEY_CLASSES_ ROOT key in the registry only shows
Everyone on the Security page of the permissions window. The permissions shown for Everyone are All and Read. On the Advanced page there isn't anything. FlashPlayer runs fine on my account with administrator privileges, but not on my wife's limited user account. So I know I have a permissions problem.
My confusinon comes at the end of your post. You state "If you have a Windows System Registry permission issue....SublnACL may be the solution. Please note that if you have this issue on multiple accounts on one machine you'll need to fix each machine individually. Since each machine can't be fixed individually if you only have one machine.....Did you mean that each user account needs to be fixed individually? If so, does that mean that I need to give the limited user account Administrator privileges before logging into that account and fixing, or can it be fixed from my login w/administrator privileges?
I'm clear on what we're trying to do here. And I think that you meant that each account needed to be fixed individually. And I think that I would need to give the limited user account administrator privileges before logging onto that account and installing SublinACL since limited use accounts shouldn't be allowed to install anything. I just need some clarification.
Thanks for the help.
