Converting my Quicktime.mov to SLV

I am working on a Mac and do have Quicktime Pro installed, but when I export my .mov there is no SLV that I can convert to so I can use the Flash player. How can I convert my .mov to SLV using QuickTime Pro without any authoring Flash 8 or CS3.

    Thanks much for your help. With my retirement income, purchasing Flash is out of the question, but with the 30 day trial, I could convert the two or three .mov files I have. I will check out the other providers on Google.

    True, you need to own Flash to do that. I may have missed that yesterday (moving too fast..)

    The simplest fix is to download the Flash trial version. That would give you the tools and be free for 30 days. And if it worked well you could make a purchase decision (or it buys you 30 days to figure out which tool you want)
    Flash Professional CS3 trials should be available -very- soon, but for now the Flash 8 trial is still up here:

    There are also 3rd party tools that create FLV, for purchase. Sorensen Squeeze, for example. Search google for 'convert MOV to FLV' and you'll see thinks like the Riva FLV converter...

    Hi Jerry,

    The Flash video file format is called, ".FLV"

    You can use Flash or the Flash Video Encoder to convert QuickTime movies to FLV format. If Flash is installed and you have QuickTime Pro you will also have options to convert to .FLV from QT Pro.

    Adobe CS3 Photoshop, After Effects and Premier will also allow you to convert to FLV format.

    As far as 3rd party programs, you may want to check out Sorenson:

    As I mentioned earlier, I do not have Flash or CS3, just QuickTime Pro. From a Quote from Bentley yesterday I thought I could move from QuickTime Pro to a FLV.

    "So the point Darren was trying to make is that without the Flash authoring tool (or Dreamweaver or some similar tool) you'lll need to use QuickTime to make FLV out of your MOV's.. then you'll need some Flash Player SWF that you can plug them into to play. There are quite a number of other developers who've made such SWF's available for download."

    From this I understood that I could use QuickTime Pro and convert my .mov to a FLV, but I still don't know how to do this without the authoring programs of Flash or CS3.

I have an old copy of DreamWeaver MX which I have never used. I could install this if it could do the conversion job and if I could find out how to use the program to make the conversion.
