Could someone help? Flash player crashing my computer.

Okay so here is my problem after the latest update I can't go on websites like tinychat livestream ustream.tv or omegle.

I could watch videos, play flash games, edit swf files and play them on my computer, play multiple videos, music, and flash games at the same time.

BUT I cannot go on websites that have online chats/live webcam chats.

For example omegle.com

when you go to that site it's a text chat / video chat website

the front page is plain then it says text or video chat you can choose between either one...

If I pick either it crashes so I know it's not just webcam chat websites

I cannot join that text chat site

Is there any possible fix for this or is there something wrong with the latest update?

Eversince I downloaded it through firefox I can't get on those chats please help, thanks.

I run a dell

    Correct answer

Okay thanks i'll look up on how to revert to a previous version and see if that helps.

Yes I have downloaded and installed firefox 3.6.6

I did check and verify that all addons from flash are enabled on both ie and firefox (the only two browsers I have installed on my computer)

Everything is updated I just finished updated my graphics driver although that didn't help my current situation, it's still crashing.

Thanks for the support i'll post again after i've reverted to a previous version to check if that solved my crashing problem. Really helpful forum i'm glad I created an account and posted here.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Just a question. Before you updated to 10.1 you had no problems with those sites? If you didn't, then something in the new version is just not working with those sites. They most likely are supporting the 10.0.45.2 still.

I have all of the information you need if you want to go back to the previous version. No need to search it out. We've given the info to quite a few users.

Actually I expect an update to this Flash Player version 10.1 since there have been some issues. However, it is difficult to know if it is the 10.1 or add ons, anti-virus, etc on the user's computer system. Hard to tell where the conflict is at the moment. Mostly it is with the hardware acceleration/graphic and video drivers.

Thanks on the Forum comment. I know Pat, the one that was helping you is very good and he has broad knowledge of computers.

What version of Firefox do you use?

Any details on the "crash" - e.g. from Event Viewer?

    none really

    after the crash I checked

Errors in the past 24 hours

    1 WMI

    5 bonjour

    3 App

    2 Application

    2 Popup

    1 Event Log

    2 Service Control Manager

    No critical Errors

    some audit failures

Then this is the order of what happened before the crash

    Processor 2 exposes the following:

    1 idle state(s)
    0 performance state(s)
    0 throttle state(s)

File System Filter 'AvgMfx64' (6.0, 4/25/2010 2:06:15-PM) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.

The system detected that network adapter Local Area Connection was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation.

Intel(R) 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection Link has been established: 100Mbps full duplex.

File System Filter 'luafv' (6.0, 1/18/2008 10:59:06-PM) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.

The previous system shutdown at 7:22:43 PM on 6/28/2010 was unexpected.

That's exactly what happened in order after I went onto omegle.com

I don't know why it's crashing it doesn't really give a reason in the event log
