I wanted to confirm the email about this Critical security bulletin.  I wanted to confirm this is legit before I update my Mac.  Thank you.

If you've not registered to receive security notifications from Adobe (see https://helpx.adobe.com/security.html) Any security notification you receive is spam/phishing attempt.  Adobe responds to these.  To report the email, do the following:

  • Create a new email message
  • In the subject put something like: reporting phishing email (or website if it's a website)
  • Attach the phishing attempt email to the newly created email
  • Send a message to phishing@adobe.com

For more information, see https://helpx.adobe.com/security/alertus.html

You can also report the phishing email to US-CERT anti-phishing working group. See https://www.us-cert.gov/report-phishing for more information.

But there are real security issues - this just uses them to get you to install viruses or worse. To update Flash go to http://get.adobe.com/flash
