Dear adobe, what should I do? Deleting a flash player

Good afternoon.
My name is Eugene, I am 24 years old and I live in Siberia.
I don't have a job in my village, but I can't leave because I need to help my mother.
The only thing I can do for myself is work remotely.
I use for my work an old but very convenient application written in flash.
It is free and was written more than 10 years ago.
I don't have enough money to pay for photoshop and lessons for it, and I don't always have enough money for food.
I'm not going to be a pirate, my father would be displeased with such an act.
On January 1, 2021, Microsoft will remove the flash player from my computer.
I called Microsoft technical support and asked them not to do this.
The support agent told me that I should contact adobe with my request, I did, but I was again told to make my request here on the forum.
-
This program has hundreds of different functions , and I attach a screenshot that shows how it works.
Please do not delete the flash player from my computer.
I don't care if I get hacked by hackers.
This is my only way to earn a loaf of bread.

You can't offer an alternative but to criticize?
Technical support told me to contact this forum for help and adobe employees will soon provide it to me.
It's been 8 days.
And the only message from you is a criticism of at least some help.
-
Take responsibility, offer your solution.

"Technical support told me to contact this forum for help and adobe employees will soon provide it to me."

Technical support was incorrect.  These forums are user-to-user forums.  Staff participates when they can in-between their standard workload.

The only suggestion we can give is to engage with HARMAN, Adobe's licensed distribution partner.  See https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/enterprise-end-of-life.html and https://services.harman.com/partners/adobe.  However, based on your first post this really isn't an option for you as they are mainly for large Enterprise customers.

You'll need to perform the required due dilligence to identify an alternative that satisfies your requirements.  We cannot do this for you.

I disagree with the so-called correct answer. It only gives a "solution" that isn't for Mr. Eugene here. The employees shouldn't make their responses "correct answers." This happened to me and I was really angry. They even locked up my forum. The people who write the forum should be able to choose the correct answers, not the employees.

The employee did not make the answer correct. i did. i read the comments, and Maria gave  the correct answer.

It does not matter if you agree or not. the answer is the answer.  Maria instructed  on the options.

You admit that this has happed before and made you angry. well... stop trolling.

Buddy, this is to be honest, your text looks like trolling.

Even if you just search for "html5 photo edotors" you can find a bunch of options.

In addition, you were advised to GIMP - it can be russified if desired and deliver plugins for effects,

In addition, there are a lot of raster editors - not just GIMP-you can find if you want. The same paint.net and it is russified and supplemented with plugins.

The problem is not that the flash dies - the problem is that you do not see options for development.

And if you get 8K rubles a month-well, then you sell yourself cheap,

If you became a postman and delivered mail/pensions to your neighbors, you would get more money.

Find and learn new software - when you learn how to make more cool images, sell them more expensive and you will have not 8000 but 80000 already, for example.

In addition, I have no idea where you sell your drawings, if for the web, then figma and zeplin have long become the standard, if just a picture, then the above options can not be worse than some kind of division on a flash.

In short, evolve, my friend, learn English, look for new software, draw better. Otherwise, you'll disappear like a mammoth.

In my arrogant opinion, you gotta look at his point of view. Put yourself in his shoes. Maybe AVATAN is really really convenient.

It does sound like AVATAN has been convenient for Eugene in the past. However, as I said and MIke5FB5 has reinforced, people need to adapt to change. It is not good practice to be reliant on single tool for your income. Tools change, sometimes in ways we may not desire. In addition, the products that customers need change over time.

Prior to Flash, Director was the flagship product of Macromedia, capable of creating a range of multimedia products. Interactive CD-ROMs were big things. With what we could to online evolving and our connections speeds increasing, things like interactive CDs became obsolete. For anyone fixated on Director skills for interactive CD development, they would have had their professional life come to an end. The better approach, as was done by others, is to adapt - transfer skills in using one tool to another, find new products to create that are in demand, look for new opportunities. If you want a successful career, you need to constantly learn and develop your skills.

When you are working just use a web browser that will still support NPAPI (like Waterfox or Pale Moon) and edit C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg to whitelist the domains that you need flash on (using AllowListUrlPattern).

As long as the website keeps the swf files online nothing will change for you.

I think I found a good photo editor that doesn't require Flash Player : https://pixlr.com/x/

Please try it, Mr. Eugene

Let me know what you think of it. 🙂

This program is really similar to AVATAN, but most of the elements here are paid....

Dear Mr. Eugene.

I am a kid who browses the entire internet.

I found this website called Softonic that gives safe and (usually)free downloads.

I searched the entire website and found an Adobe Flash Player download for Windows which was completely free, no money needed.

Here is the link: https://en.softonic.com/windows/multimedia

But, you must download it on January 2 because downloading it before will make Windows remove both Flash Players off of your system. If you download it on January 2, you will ALWAYS have Flash Player 🙂

And I know this will work because I tested it on my Windows PC and since your computer runs on Windows, which is a part of Microsoft, it is 100% guranteed to work 🙂

It's never advisable/recommended to download software from non-official sources as anything reposted to some other site has the potential to have been modified, and thus may harm your system.

Sorry. I disagree. I tested it and there was no sign of any virus 🦠. Even my anti-virus software verified my claim.

Besides,  a person is relying on this thread to save his own life.

I know right 😞

Adobe Flash Player is a great tool, it is sad to see it leave us.

Why did Adobe even give up on it?!

Hi Eugene,

With the appication you use, does it run in a web browser or is it a standalone executable? If it's a standalone application, it will continue to run. Flash content viewed online through a web browser will no longer work in modern browsers. Falsh content wrapped into otehr types of desktop apps can still work.

If you're looking for a free image editing tool as an alternative to Photoshop, GIMP (www.gimp.org)  is worth looking at. It has a good reputation and userbase.

My name is Christine. I use Flash Player to play a game on Facebook.  When I can't use Flash Player, I can't play the game. In HTML form, the game stops, blacks out.  I can hear some moves by the other player, but then silence.  When you play a game, you win points. These points help you to do a better job in play without having to spend any money.  It's fun!  I play for relaxing, and I'm not addicted to game playing. I just like to keep my mind sharp as I get older and this keeps me thinking.  Not that other things don't keep me thinking, but fun is just a part of play which we all need, especially in such serious times that we live with.  I also think that Flash Player allows me to see posts from my Bishop during this time of preparation for Christmas, and I'm concerned that I won't be able to see these posts.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to solve this problem?  Microsoft seems to have made up their minds about not using Flash Player.  I don't use any smart devices because I don't own them.  I use a desktop computer with Microsoft, Window's 10, Office 365. Thanks for your help.

Hi Christine,

There should be other games in Facebook that don't use Flash.  Since the end of Flash support is definite, users like yourself will need to find other options. In the last few years much of Flash content has been converted to other formats not requirng the Flash Player/plugin. Those that have not may have decided to let their products/web content come to an end. For your Church you can ask them what they intend to use that does not rely on Flash.

Wish you all the best in finding another game you can enjoy and in finding a way to keep seeing Church posts.

I do not work for Adobe. I regret I do not have good news for you. Microsoft, Google, Firefox, Apple and Adobe have agreed that Flash Player will be removed. This was decided 3 years ago, and will happen. You have one month to find a new application. There are many excellent free apps. You can also check if http://avatan.ru have any plans, but I think they have decided to focus on Android and iPad, and they decided not to fix it for you on a computer, over the last 3 years.

My phone is a Panasonic KX-TU110, it doesn't have Android.
I tried to find an analog application, adobe said that all applications already have analogs.
But this is not true, there are no free analogues of the AVATAN app.
The only way is to hack photoshop, but it's against the law and I don't want to go to jail.
And they also don't plan to adapt the PC version to html5.

I hope adobe will take responsibility and offer an alternative to AVATAN, otherwise I just don't know what to do..

There are many, many image editors. The choice is not only between Avatan and Photoshop. Some are free, as I said. Some are apps you install, some are online like Avatan. You don't need anything from Adobe.

Tip: if you store your files INSIDE the Avatan system somehow, download copies of everything; you will lose the work otherwise.
