I am having significant difficulty loading videos to play on an internet website

and when the videos load they play on a very intermittent basis.

I own a Dell Vostro 220.  It has 1.00 GB of memory and has a 32-bit operating system.

I am using Windows Vista operating system and Internet Explorer 7.0 browser.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the info, format is fine. Your Flash files are all correct and the Shockwave Flash Object also. So Flash Player is correctly Installed and then something is conflicting, most likely an add on in the browser.

Don't forget to let me know about the Anti-Virus program, etc.

You might also check in the IE add ons any add ons, BHO's or helpers that you don't know what they are for. Any that you have now, that you didn't have prior to Uninstalling and Installing Flash Player vs 10.1. Let me know.

    Thanks,

Hello again, Now we will check the Flash files. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed there. If you only have IE7 as your browser, then you won't(or shouldn't) have any other Flash files except for IE.

Just to make sure I'm understanding, you are having problems playing a video on a website. Since you have already turned off the hardware acceleration, then perhaps an add on in the browser is conflicting.

Let me know what Anti-Virus program you use and if it has it's own Firewall and if not, do you use any Firewall other than Windows Firewall.

    Thanks,

Hi, I am bringing the previous info over so it will all be in one place.

Eidnolb, I hope I may ask for your guidance.  I have version 10 of Flash Player installed.  I have the same problem of intermittent playing.  My problem is not at YouTube, but at another internet website.

I used the link you provided and saw the animation displayed.  I unchecked hardware acceleration using your directions.

I went to tools, internet options and then security and changed from "Medium-high" to "Medium".  I do notice there is a check for "Enable Protected Mode".

I went to tools, manage add-ons, enable or disable add-ons and found Shockwave Flash Object.  It was enabled and said Flash10i.ocx in the last column.  Is this what it should be?

    My response to the above:

Hello raiders1967, To answer your question about Shockwave Flash Object, yes that is correct. Then the Medium setting for the Internet Zone allows for the use of ActiveX(which you will have noted is what the Shockwave Flash Object is)

The fact that you could see the animation at the test site would indicate that Flash Player is Installed correctly and working. However, since I have found that doesn't necessarily mean that the Flash files may not have an old file that is conflicting. So I like to confirm that the Flash files are correct by checking them.

It would be better if you would start your thread because I know that threads can get lengthy when troubleshooting. Even more so when more than one person is posting.

When you start your thread, just pick any subject that describes your problem briefly. Include your operating system, browsers and version numbers, and the Anti-Virus program you use and whether you have a 64bit system. That way I have the information I need to have you check a couple of things.

Nice to see you have checked and applied some of the information:-)

    Thanks,
