Disappearing flash player.

I keep installing flash player on my laptop, but each time I reboot it has disappeared.  I have used adobe uninstaller,before downloading, but this makes no difference.  I am using IE 9 and windows 7, but cannot find any obvious probems in their security setup  IE settings are the same as on my PC, but that is running Windows Vista.
