"i have the version of adobe i require"

    what does this mean?

If you have the most recent version, 32.0.0.270, installed for all player types (ActiveX for IE/Edge, NPAPI plugin for Firefox/Safair, PPAPI plugin for Chromiumb-based browsers) any notification to update Flash Player is not coming from Flash Player, but something else.

If you have some previous version installed and do not wish to update (not recommended at all), you can disable update notifications in the Flash Player Settings Manager:

    • Mac:  Settings Manager > Flash Player
    • Windows: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items > Flash Player

When the Flash Player Settings Manager launches, go to the Updates tab and select 'Never check for updates (not recommended)'

PS beware of fake update notices, never follow links in a web browser telling you to update!! Only go the http://get.adobe.com/flash.

It is dangerous to run old versions of Flash Player: it leaves you wide open to attack, so Adobe, as a responsible company must try to persuade you to do the right thing.
