Does installing new flash remove old flash player?

Question

We have quite a mix of Adobe Flash player (for IE) and the plugin of flash player. There are pc's with 11.x, 12.x, 13.x and so on. Since there was no reply to this thread Help rolling out Flash Player w/ Auto Update we must just roll out the latest client as is using SCCM to the whole company.

Questions:

1. Will it remove the older versions automatically? If not, how can it be done in an automated fashion?

2. Should we just install the plugin version of flash or need to do both? Many folks have a mix of IE, Firefox and Chrome.

Hello net1994,Yes, Flash Player will uninstall previous versions during installation. If Flash Player happens to be in use during the installation process, the files that were in use during the upgrade will remain in the directory, as files that are in use can't be deleted. However, these files will be marked for deletion upon reboot in the registry. The next time the system is rebooted the files will be removed.--Maria
