I HAVE A NEW PASSWORD THAT WORKS UNTIL I GET TO THE FINAL STEP IN THE DOWNLOAD PROCESS WHERE I AM ASKED AGAIN FOR MY PASSWORD TO COMPLETE THE DOWNLOAD.  AT THAT POINT THE WINDOW WITH THE PASSWORD SHAKES LIKE AN INVALID PASSWORD WAS ENTERED AND THE DOWNLOAD IS THUS ABORTED.  I ASSUME I MAY BE USING  OLD DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE, BUT DO NOT FIND ANY WAY TO UPGRADE IT.  I NEED HELP.

This is the operating system, not Flash Player that is prompting for the password.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?  for assistance.

What does that screen look like? Mac or PC?

If it looks like the screenshot below then it's your Mac operating system asking for your local admin password. Not Adobe asking for your Adobe ID.
