Question

Downloaded Flash Player ok on Windows 7 Dell/Firefox, but "incompatible?"

In using a program on new/refurbished Dell Windows 7 32 bit computer, got message Flash needed updating. Downloaded it via Firefox, downloaded and installed okay. But receive message: "Your version of Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with this version of Windows." Sends me to Adobe website, where I confirm the download is for Windows 7, 32 bit. Tried again, same problem.

Any ideas what to do? Can't run the program I need to without it.

Looks like I'm still having trouble running the program I need to run on this computer - am seeing an error message re: "tws.ocx" not being registered or containing an error.

To answer Pat's question - 11 files are in that area:

activex.vch

Flash32_11_8_800_94.ocx

FlashInstall

flashplayer.xpt

FlashPlayerPlugin_11_8_800_94

FlashPlayerUpdateService

FlashUtil32_11_8_800_94_ActiveX.dll

FlashUtil32_11_8_800_94_ActiveX

FlashUtil32_11_8_800_94_Plugin

mms.cfg

NPSWF32_11_800_94.dll

plugin.vch

Appreciate any help, thanks.

"tws.ocx" is not part of Flash Player; you are getting this error when doing what?

The Firefox Flash Player and the ActiveX version (for IE) are two separate and different animals. Most likely the app requires the ActiveX Flash Player plugin, because it uses an IE engine to display content. Updating the plugin for Firefox DOESN'T update the ActiveX plugin.

Download the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX installer directly by clicking the following link.

Thanks - that was the ticket - did the download/install again for IE

instead of Firefox and that seemed to include the needed element. Thanks

for your responses C F and Pat!
