Question

Embed video not working on Safari and Edge

Flash version: 29.0.0.171

MacOS version: 10.13.4

Browser: Safari 11.1

Link: http://www.laguitarraparatodos.com.ar/index.php/programas/viewvideo/420/homenaje-a-la-guitarra/homenaje-a-la-guitarra

The embed video works fine on Chrome and Firefox on every platform but on Safari 11.1 and Edge 15 it fails to load. Right clicking displays a "Movie not loaded..." message. There no related errors on the browser's console and Flash is installed and enabled for the website.

Following the steps on the test page does end up making the test page work. I currently have Flash Player enabled for all sites, and still the user's reported problem happens.

I think that you are getting the general problem of enabling Flash Player mixed up with the specific problem of the movie not loading. Look at this screenshot, you can see that I definitely have Flash Player enabled:

I realize they are different issues.

My comment was specifically in reply to the comment on the Adobe - Flash Player page (Instead of showing a test, it fails to load an advertisement.).  There are some issues with that page and the team that handles that page has been notified that it's not functioning correctly.

I posted the link to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html as an alternative page to check the Flash Player version installed.

Hi,

Did you follow all the steps mentioned on Adobe Flash Player issues with Windows 10 (Microsoft Edge) and Enable Adobe Flash Player for Safari pages to enable Flash Player for Edge and Safari browsers.

Thanks!

I don't know about Caroline, but I definitely have Flash working in Safari. Also, I think you only get the Movie Not Loaded message on pages that have managed to load the SWF but not its contents.

BTW, the Flash test page isn't so useful these days:

Adobe - Flash Player

Instead of showing a test, it fails to load an advertisement.

Here's one page I used to test Flash that uses external video, though FLV in this case I'm sure:

The team responsible for this page has been notified, however, I don't have an estimate as to when the issue will be resolved.

Another option you can use is https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html.  However, since most browser's block Flash by default, Flash has to be enabled in the browser for the System Information widget to return the Flash version installed.

I see the same issue in Safari.

There is this old discussion, where some things that people tried helped, but also some people just gave up. It could be worth adding a new reply there, mainly because Chris Campbell was one of the participants in the discussion, and he's a product manager on the flash Player team, maybe he will know if a solution was ever found.

"movie not loaded" problem Flash 11.1.102.55 (IE9 32&64 & Chrome) on all websites
