Equivalent to Flash Player When It Ends

I generally do research through older websites as both a hobby and profession. I heard flash player was ending soon. I inquired with an agent to see if there was an alternative. One agent helped me and gave me a few links to adobe for this year and also gave me an equivalent, but asked me if I had an account. So I signed in to check and lost touch with that agent, losing the links as well. I got another agent who didn't help but told me to come here.

My issue is I need to use Flash for access to older websites. Would that still be possible after this year or is there an equivalent?

Just keep a browser version with Flash in it on your computer until Adobe will offer a full substitute, but for websites not maintained it's better to have the first option for now.

You have to stop all updates on the browser. For Edge and IE, that means turning off all updates.leaving your system wide open to attacks. For Chrome, I think it's impossible. In fact running any old system, or Flash after Adobe stop supporting it, is leaving your system wide open to attacks. Ok perhaps if the system is used only to work with Flash. Very bad idea if you use the machine also for email, shopping, or anything private...

There is no equivalent and no plan to allow access to older sites or archives. All major browser will block Flash whatever Adobe offer. Older frozen machines may be possible for research, with the associated security risk; definitely not recommended.
