Error message when trying to install Flash 10.0.45.2

I am running IE 7 on windows XP. We had some issues with Flash active active control version 10.1.53.64 and higher so I unistalled 10.1.53.64 and downloaded the older version (10.0.45.2) from the adobe website but when I try to install it I get the following error "The version of Adobe Flash Player that are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest more secure version". I am however able to install version 9.0.289.0

Is there any particular reason that i cannot install 10.0.

The reason that I don't want to use 10.1 is because it has a bug that affects the working of my application and the audio some times does not play.

If I remember correctly, there were two different installers for 10.0.45.2: one that did the checking for a newer version, and one that did not.

The forum search is currently disabled, and I cannot find the topics that were discussed at the time.

However, I still have the installers for the non-check version available for download on my servers:

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the Active X from the link you provided but I am still getting the same error message

Do you currently have a newer Flash Player version installed? You must uninstall that before installing the older version.

Make sure that nothing of the new Flash Player is left in the C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
