Question

Failed installation

When I download and run the adobe flash player v10.3.181.34 installer I get the following error:

"Installation encountered errors"

"failed to initialize"

The problem now is that I uninstalled the old version, thinking that somehow it may be causing the problem such that now I have no ability to view any flash media online.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA!

I had the same problem with the EXE installer, but the MSI installer worked for me.

Incidentally (?) I have to access the web via a proxy.  So perhaps the EXE was failing to find the resources on the web, while the MSI succeeded.

W2K8 32-bit, plugin version of Flashplayer.

Can you post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?

Thanks, but I already fixed it.  Instead of dealing with adobe's lame installer, I downloaded the large 75 meg archived version (complete Install) which of course worked flawlessly.

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.
