Failed to obtain the installation logs

I'm using my Macbook with Yosemite operating system. I am an administrator and this is the only MacBook I use.

It has been a month, trying to sort this out with this latest Flash Player installer, due to "not enough permissions" saga. Recently, after I uninstalled FP from Adobe and downloaded a clean FP installer and it came up failed with the same error, I began to digging out inside the files as I was followed by your instructions that you guys provided.

It came up two problems:

  • While the Console app was running after I selected the insert marker to run FP installer, there wasn't any new lines displayed when the installer runs.
  • ~/Library/Logs/AdobeADMLogs - is not found after I copied and pasted from the page you guys wrote.

So what's gives?

Thanks for reading. Hopefully, it'll solve soon.

    Hi matt160977,

Thank you for uploading the log files. This is the online installer, which downloads and installs Flash Player silently.  The online installer is failing to properly download Flash Player, which is why you're not seeing anything in the install.log file (the failure point is prior to this step in the workflow).  I've forwarded the info to the team that handles the online installer.  In the interim, you can use the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the 'Still having problems' section.

    Hi,

There was a typo in the instruction "Copy and paste ~/Library/Logs/Adobe_ADMLogs into the Go to Folder dialog" however, the screenshot posted had the correct path.  I have fixed the path in the FAQ.

For the statement "While the Console app was running after I selected the insert marker to run FP installer, there wasn't any new lines displayed when the installer runs." I suspect the failure is happening prior to writing anything to this file.

    Hi Maria,

Thanks for the response and I just finished the instructions and uploaded the zip file, here is the link.

I'm sorry I couldn't get any new lines from the Console app and I think you may be right about this situation regarding about Console app, I may have done with my CleanMyMac 3 app to ask to un-install FP.

I hope this helps anything to resolve it.

    Thanks,

    Matthew
