I just purchased a brand new Dell laptop with windows 7 and it crashes everytime I try to play Farmville which used
Adobe Flashplayer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash player, tried using firefox instead of explorer and nothing works - has anyone else had this problem?

I too have a new Dell XPS 16 Notebook

There seems to be a lot of people with this problem between Farmville, IE on Windows 7 and Adobe Flash Player.  I can make mine fail EVERY TIME when I'm harvesting or plowing and a pop up window tells me I have found something and asks if I want to share.  If I say yes to share, then another window pops up asking me to publish.  Once the publish is completed, and I return to my farm to continue what I was doing, it locks up EVERY TIME within 2 seconds or so.  To me, this appears to be a problem with Flash Player.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player which by the way is not compatible with 64 bit so I'm even trying to use IE 32 bit and it still fails.  I have updated all my other driver files, I have tried direct connecting the laptop to the wireless router, still, it fails.  I do NOT experience these problems with Vista or good 'ol XP.

I wish Facebook, Adobe and or Microsoft would step up to the plate and help resolve this.  You can't believe how frustrating this is!

Are you installing Adobe Flash player Beta? You have to use Beta with Windows 7.

Sorry not computer literate.Have it uninstalled now..but can't get on to load the 32 bit. Then I get an error that says"ERROR parameter is incorrect. This is just some info I came across reading about Windows7 and perhaps it will be helpful for those of you that use it.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/features/64-bit-support.aspx  It explains the difference between a 32bit and 64bit and the

    FAQ section is informative.

This is another link that discusses it all.

The discussion covers Flash Player installation and problems also.

I found out why I wasn't able to install flash player. There was a conflict with Mailwasher Pro.  When I disabled Mailwasher. I was able to install

Flashplayer in both IE and Firefox.  I also temporarily disabled Norton Antivirus and Firewall before installing.  I did, however, uninstall the previous Flashplayer with Revouninstaller.  That program is excellent because it removes any leftover files from the default uninstaller.  Also I ran CCleaner for good measure.  I hope this information may be of some value to you.  James (32 bit Windows 7)

My wife was having the same problem with her computer. On farmville the screen would turn white and we would have to do a hard reset. I've had luck with installng the beta version of flash. The computer still crashes on firefox but not immediately and now when it crashes it only crashes the browser. When using firefox if you've set firefox to reopen with the last tabs you were using the computer will pop right back up to where it was. Here is the link to the flash beta. I know it isn't a fix but maybe it will hold us until adobe gets their crap together. HTML5 for the win.

Thanks for the info, I will try that. I tried an older beta version that didn’t work but it looks like they have released a new one now.

I am having the same problem, only it is not just Farmville it is also Hulu, Cafe World, and any other flash application.  I have no solutions yet but switching to Google Chrome as my browser usually gives me a few more minutes before it freezes.  I was thinking it was my graphics card, does your laptop have an Nvidia card? if it doesn't you would be the first person I have found that doesn't have one.  Vista has the same problem for me (I tried upgrading to 7 and still had the problem too)  I will get back to you soon as I have just tried upgrading to the beta version of flash player 10.2 to see if the problem is fixed.

Unfortunately I have no solutions but I can tell you that I don't have Nvidia

but ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 (my pc is a DELL Studio XPS with windows 7).

I tried to reinstall Flashplayer many times but it seems there's no easy fixing.

The problme is the same both with IE, Firefox and GChrome.

It seems a very widespread problem. I can only hopet that Adobe or Microsoft will develop an answer soon...
