Firefox displays "Plugin Not Working" after an update

I just received my Flash update and immediately Firefox has crashed.  It's going in a loop displaying the message that a plugin has stopped working.  It's the same problem I had a month or so ago that prevented me from using Firefox for three days.  WTF is going on?  Please get on and fix this immediately!!

Since your reply was distinct from the issue in the thread you posted to, I've branched it to a new discussion.

First things first, exit Firefox completely and re-launch it.  If that doesn't resolve the issue, reboot.

For convenience, we don't make you exit Firefox when Flash Player updates anymore.  The trade-off for that convenience is that upgrading while the browser is running can leave things in an unpredictable state until the browser restarts.  It really depends on what's happening in the browser at the time.

Relaunching Firefox or Rebooting the machine should clear any previous states, and ensure that you're consistently running the newly installed version of Flash Player.

If that doesn't help, please uninstall and reinstall Flash Player:

    Hi,

Are you using Firefox 32 or 64 bit?

Please try on both if it resolves the issue.

    Thanks
