Flahplayer Installation fail! Plase help

Trying to upgrade flasplayer to the latest build, the installer isn't getting past the "Retrieving" stage. It stops and displays "Action list not found".

I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps and reviewed the known issues. I'm not finding this issue mentioned anywhere.

I'm using IE 9 on Windows 7 - 64bit.

Firefox plugin updated Flash Player with no problem on the same laptop.

Any clues why installation would fail while Firefox has no issue?
