I have win xp SP3 32 bit. I recently upgraded to Flash 10.2 and now IE 8 does not work with Flash. Firefox works OK as does Turbotax.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times ( using the adobe installer and uninstallers). The kill bit is not on.  Any ideas?

Thanks. Your Flash files are correct for IE & FF and with the SWO enabled in IE and the SWF enabled in FF, you shouldn't be having any problems.

What website is not working with IE? What about Youtube, videos ok there?

Use this test site with both browsers and let me know if you can see the Flash Player logo animation(spin)

    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/.

Sometimes addons in the IE browser will conflict, especially any of the Anti-Virus programs. So you may want to check those, by disabling and see if there is an improvement.

Second time trying to send this message.............

When I use the test site it does spin once and says  Adobe Flash player

    successfully installed.

    You tube works also.

The web site that is not working is my community web site.  When you log in

there is a community tv channel. I can view it with FF but not with IE 8.   The

vendor is coming in today so I have asked our person who maintains the site to

get the details on the software ( Name, version and other dependicies).

Hi, Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show"(light text) look in All addons for Shockwave Flash Object. Is it Enabled? If not, Enable it.

At this site, this key was not there? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/782435?tstart=0

Have you had a Virus/Malware and if so which Program removed it? Was this before updating Flash Player?

Do you have any other Anti-Virus Installed than MSE? MBAM is a stand alone I assume.

    Any third party Firewalls?

Tools>Internet Options under the Security Tab, you only need it set to Medium for the Internet Zone.

Did you use the Administrator Account when Uninstalling/Installing? This is the only Account that gives the Permissions required to Install that ActiveX Control(Shockwave Flash Object)

    Thanks,

    Shockwave is enabled.

    I am the administrator.

    No virus or malware.

    Only have MSSE.

    No other firewalls.

I can see the Shockwave and it is enabled.  Note everything works with Firefox.

Sometimes when I delete everything and start from Scratch I     get a message

INSTALLATION FAILED but there is no error number.

How can it failure with IE but work with FIREFOX?

Hi thanks for the info. Now in your FF plugins a Shockwave Flash plugin is Installed and Enabled. In IE, it is "Shockwave Flash Ojbect" check and make sure that is what it says, Enabled and is version 10.2.152.32. If that isn't Installed, then that is your problem.

    Let me know,

I have Windows security essentials. I have also turned off the hardware accelerator.   I have reset all security settings to their lowest possible and turnoff the windows firewall before doing the uninstall and install and rebooting
