Flash 10.2 won't work on Firefox for Ubuntu

Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Firefox 3.3.16.

Every time I install Adobe Flash 10.2 (in APT for Ubuntu 9+), it seems to install fine, but the websites I've tried after reloading/restarting all still read "To view this video, please install the latest version of Flash." I've tried unistalling and reinstalling, using different browsers, and even downloading different file versions. Nothing seems to work! Help!

I do not know Linux at all, so I'm not sure how much I can help you.

But check if Firefox can actually see the plugin: type about:plugins in the address bar, and see if Shockwave Flash Object is listed and enabled.

I did that, and the plugins page says Firefox is still running Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53, not the new one I installed. I also ran the Firefox "plugin check" and it said I needed to update Flash, but when I clicked on the "update" link, it just takes me back to the original flash download site. Firefox still isn't recognizing the install for some reason....
