Flash 10 and MS Internet Explorer 8 problems

I am finding problems displaying a panorama (which uses flash); with Firefox everything works fine, but with IE I get serious distortion and white patches. The file I am trying to show is at

www.johnfirth.net/pano/stowe.htm

You can see my problem from the screen dumps at,

http://www.johnfirth.net/pano/screenshot.htm

The panorama is generated by Garden Gnome software Pano2vr. I have been on their forum - see

http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2271#p9673

but no one seems to have experienced the same problem. My laptop (XP) is fine and I have tried every computer I can lay my hands on without problem. In fact, the only other person that sees the problem is my neighbour's son on his XP.

My computer setup is,

Windows Vista 6.0 build 6001 Service Pack 1
Flash 10.0.22.87
Pano2vr 2.2.3
IE 8.0.6001
Firefox 3.0.10

I am not sure whether it is

  • Some strange quirk on my computer
  • A problem related to Pano2vr
  • A Flash problem
  • An IE problem
  • A Vista problem
  • I have gone completely nutty

Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Anybody got any ideas?

PS I have been advised to "delete by force  Flash *.ocx, and re-install

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ax.exe"

Is this wise?

Thanks! John

Problem was caused by set-up of Pano2vr - I had set the render quality to low to try and speed up download. Increasing the quality clears the problem.

    Thanks! John

Sorry - can you give more specifics to what I need to do? You are a little above me on that lingo.

I would rather suggest that you download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157, then run it (while IE is closed). Did all the OCX files get removed? If not, how about after a reboot?

Once all previous FP components are removed, install the offline ActiveX installer from your link above.

I tried all this and it still doesn't install.

It would be much better if you started a new topic with your problem, instead of hijacking an existing topic.

When you do, specify all information, including OS, browser, what error message(s) you get, and anything else that we cannot see from here.
