Flash 10.... is installed, but not being detected by websites

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest edition of Flash.  I have even updated my Java program.  I'm running IE8 and Windows 7.

After Flash installation, I can see the animation on the Adobe website proving that it was installed.  However, when I go to certain websites (e.g. PBSkids.org, shutterfly.com), it says that I need to install Flash!

I also have the latest Shockwave installed and Reader; both are working fine.

I have rebooted my computer.  I've checked my IE settings.

HELP!

(Coincidentally, Flash works on my new laptop, also running IE8 and Windows 7).

Thanks!

    F5 (refreshing) doesn't work.

I checked my IE8 Add-ons and the Shockwave one is ENABLED.

    Any other ideas?  So frustrated!

    Thanks!

Hi, one very important thing you can check is the IE add ons. Find the Shockwave Flash Object, see if it is Flash10e.ocx and it must be enabled.

    Thanks,

The Add-On doesn't say Flash 10e, but it does say 10.0.45.2.

Hi, well, then let's take a look at what was installed into your Flash folder.

Do you know how to find it?

I get that message sometimes on Youtube.  Pressing the reload button (F5) usually clears the problem.

Does that not work for you?
