Flash 9 Installation failed

This may be long but support from Adobe has been non-existent.

I tried to upgrade my Flash version 7 to version 9. I got the prompt to install and instead of a Flash movie saying it was successfully installed I get a quote (") instead where it should be. That is it. Now, after following all instructions from adobe, I am told to go to the forums because the can not help me.

I have finally gotten 6 installed again but I get errors whenever I go to some sites. Example: acura.com

I can not get flash to work in IE6, IE7, and Firefox.

I had the same exact problem and would see (") when I would try to download. I have tried editing the reg and removing the Safe Versions folder, and still had the same problem, I have uninstalled every file in my computer having to do with Flash Player with the different programs including Windows Install Clean Up and then checked C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder and removed everything including the (.ocx) files and tried installing Flash Player 9 using the downloadable files and the adobe website, and still have the same (") problem or
when installing using the MSI file get the following installation error:

    Error 1904.Module
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9.ocx failed to register.
HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

Any one know the solution to this problem?I have tried all the solutions mentioned both in the adobe support site and here in the forum and still can't solve my problem...

Did you go to Add/Remove and remove flash 6. If you have any other flashplayers there, remove them and try downloading flash 6 again. I have flash 6 and went to acura.com with no problems. Hope this helps. I would stay with flash 6 as long as websites work.

RoJo, what is the "little app"? When I follow the link, I only get back to the same stuff listed on the Adobe support tech area which doesn't work. What is the "amara applicatioon" and where do you get it? Thanks

    Check the following:

Please go to the following link to install the Flash Player 9

    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

After you uncheck the YAHOO toolbar, select the “Install Now” button. On the next page when you see the question mark (“), please look at the top of your web browser just below the address bar and see if it says, “This site might require the following ActiveX Control…” If it does, select that bar with your mouse and it should give you an option to “Install ActiveX Control”.

I did that for about 3hrs (clicking the yellow bar at the top). After doing this it would still show (") and never would download. I had to do what I previously posted. Maybe it was just my computer but it worked.

I had the same exact problem and would see (") when I would try to download. After several hours of surfing the web I fixed my problem. Try these three sites, as one of them fixed the problem. However, I cannot remember exactly which one worked, but one of them definitely worked.

If you are trying to install via a web page, try installing via the
    downloadable installer:
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_msi or
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/killbitblock/fla...

This is a silent installer - you will get no feedback if the install is
successful. You can check for your Flash install status here:

I have the same problem as the first guy and for a long time now with no help from adobe.

I tried to upgrade my Flash version 8 to version 9. I got the prompt to install and instead of a Flash movie saying it was successfully installed I get a quote (") instead where it should be. That is it. Now, after following all instructions from adobe, I am told to go to the forums because the can not help me.

I opened the first site glamare posted but nothing changed but i did get a messege that said:

" 1: The installscript engine is missing from this machine.
If available, please run ISScript.msi, or contact your
support personnel for futher assistance. "

I would try go to the site glamare posted but its not complete:

I am having the same problems as most of you! I have already contacted customer service and after spending hours on the phone and having 2 useless e-mails sent to me, i had to resort to the forums for help. When i go to dowload the flash player i don't see a gold bar at the top at all. Is there something wrong with my internet or computer (Internet explorer + Dell Inspiron 6000)? I have also tried the links posted above but i am still having the same problem? Please help! Feel free to e-mail me at MCAP1790@msn.com. Thanks!
