it looks like i have old version of flash and it won't update unless i remove and reinstall.

yet the only places i can find have the uninstall software for everything other than yosminite

Run the uninstaller on Mac OS X 10.4 and later (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks)

    Hi eh82902274 ,

You shouldn't have to uninstall the previous version in order to install the latest version, but it never hurts to manually uninstall before installing the latest version.  Is there an error returned when you attempt to install the latest version? If so, what is it?

That uninstaller will work on Yosemite.  The page hasn't been updated to explicitly state Yosemite, but it does say 'OS X 10.4 and later).

If you haven't rebooted yet, that's a great place to start.  At minimum, it will eliminate a bunch of potential roadblocks for other steps.

If rebooting doesn't help, please see the installation troubleshooting guide:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html

Collecting and posting the logs would help us improve the product, and the links to the offline installers at the bottom of the guide should get you going.

Also, if the installation is actually completing and you're using Safari, you might just need to take some additional steps to enable Flash:

Enable Adobe Flash Player for Safari
