Flash debug Player 20.0.0.286 refuses to install on Windows 8.1

I've tried everything I can think of, but each time I attempt to install debug player 20.0.0.286, it instead installs 19.0.0.207 for IE. Any thoughts? I'm happy to provide any requested details.

While we host a link for the Windows 8.x debugger on https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html page the installer file itself comes from Microsoft and Microsoft has not yet updated the content debugger version yet. Currently 19.0.0.207 is the most recent version available for the content debugger.

Thanks for the response. I wish the download page made that clear.

Is it possible on Windows 8.1 to installer an older debug flash ocx? If so, where might I find older debug builds? I have a project that needs to be tested across numerous player versions.

Normally, Microsoft updates the content debuggers with each monthly release, but for some reason, they haven't updated since 19.0.0.207.

I'm not sure if there's a way to install previous debuggers on Windows 8.1. But will ask if it's possible. If you need to test your project with numerous content debuggers, I recommend keeping a copy of the 19.0.0.207 installer handy for when Microsoft releases an update. If you can test with a non-content debugger you can uninstall the Flash Player updates for Internet Explorer and test with previous versions. You can find information on all versions of Flash Player for Internet Explorer here: Microsoft Security Advisory 2755801 (previous updates are listed at the bottom of the page). These are the release versions of the Player, not content debuggers.
