When I try to play swf files it always tries to use adobe reader and fails so i tried to change the swf files association to adobe flash, wich it should have been in the first place. But when I try to change it flash isn't on the files list i checked through all my files and it doesn't show up, but I downloaded it several times and it appears in my uninstall programs menu just not in any folder. So how do i get flash to appear in a folder and how can I associate it to swf files.

The standard Flash Player is a browser add-on, not a standalone player.

If you want to play local swf files, download Projector from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make any file associations manually.
