Flash doesn't appear to install

Because of a computer death, I'm having to use an old Dell laptop with XP Pro as a stopgap.  I installed Firefox 3.6.13 on it.  It wants to install Flash 10, but when the dialog box pops up, the "INSTALL" button is grayed out, and only "QUIT" is available.  Same if I try to do a manual installation.  Like an earlier poster, I see Flash 10 in the list of programs to uninstall, but have no idea how it could have gotten there given that the installation never started.  What can I do to get this thing installed?

You need to check the checkbox left of "I have read and agree..." to enable the INSTALL button.

But that's the problem.  It won't install.  The browser doesn't matter; Flash won't even install manually without a browser even being open.  I suspect this computer just might be too old to handle it.  So I'm not going to bother trying to install Flash any more.  My new computer should be here next week, and doubtless it'll install on that one.

    Hello,

Try to uninstall Flash Player from this Flash Player Uninstaller : http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

Make sure while uninstalling Flash Player, no applications are running, Once it is uninstalled do not open any program

Download the Flash Player installer : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

Close all the programs and run the installer

    Hope that helps

    Thanks,

    Vikram
