Flash is not working properly on intel based macbook pro.

Hi there. About a week ago, the flash player on my Macbook Pro just started malfunctioning and I've been trying to fix it using multiple methods and nothing has worked. I've tried completely uninstalling flash and doing a clean install and restart and that still doesn't do anything. Also, I've tried having the hardware acceleration option  turned on and I've tried having it turned off and they don't do  anything either.

Flash won't work properly no matter what browser I'm using. On youtube, videos will only work when I open them at full screen, otherwise there's just a frozen buffering symbol. I'm able to hear sound in video, but the video itself won't play. With all other websites that use flash, the flash enabled stuff doesn't work at all.

I've tried to fix this numerous times, but I haven't had any success.

I would greatly appreciate some help with this.

    Hi, We hardly have anyone on the forum that has experience with Mac and I just know a little:-)

    Are your plugins in the Library, regardless of what browser you are using? And if so do you have the Shockwave Flash plugin there and Enabled? What version is it?

    I'm not sure where the Flash files are located on the Mac, perhaps Applications? Whereever they are, I need the Flash files and the version number that you have Installed.

    If you could get that info, at least we would know that you have the correct Flash files Installed, along with the required SWF plugin.

    When you reply back, please let me know what browsers you are using also in case I need that info.

    Mine also only plays audio when I click play on Youtube and Vimeo videos, AND on DVDs.

    Mac 10.6.8, 2.53 Ghz Intel Core i5

    Flash CS5.5 and Software Update says Flash Player is up to date, so basically I'm running THE Flash version that Adobe/Mac thinks I should be running.  Will somebody who knows the filepath to the Shockwave Flash plugins please help?

    I use both Firefox and Safari, and both have the same issue.  Chrome apparently works fine, but no telling when that will have the same problem.  I've never had a Mac behave this unreliably before.  Startin to remind me of a PC.

    Spotlight search Flash Player.plugin

    Search the ENTIRE HD

    Trash EVERYTHING

    Empty the Trash

    Download the installer (http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_player_11_osx.dmg) and run it
