Question

Flash - low volume sound, tinny, distorted

I've been trying to hack away at this issue for what seems forever on my brother rig, not that I do seems to fix it though.

I have read and tried every 'fix' listed in the "NO SOUND IN FLASH PLAYER!!!!!", including the Registry/msacm32.drv fix - no dice. Installing/reinstalling Ver. 9 doesn't work. Uninstalling it and trying an older version doesn't work. Going into and adjusting Administrative settings and advance sound settings, guess what...doesn't work. The computer is gear to even work with the same and correct sound card for all applications. I've even tried running it and adjusting the settings for it in both Mozilla and IE, no change in sound. Drivers are all up to date as well.

Sound is fine with every other feature of the computer, so I'm taking a wild guess that it's not a malfunctioning sound card.

Can anyone offer up some advice that hasn't been rehashed 2094830948320 times while ignoring the other people that it doesn't seem to help out? I'm sure that I'm not alone in the range of people that are getting beyond frustrated with trying to fix this issue.

HELP.

MUST REFRAIN FROM SMASHING FACE INTO KEYBOARD OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

same issue here too, sound is distorted and very low..just like if i was under water. reinstaling the player doesn't help.
the most strange thing is that the sound works fine if i'm listening to some mp3 on winamp at the same time.

    so... the good news
    i solved my problem

trouble was a misconfiguration of my 5.1 speakers system (i guess flash was sending signal to subwoofer only).
so for everybody with such a problem...check your speakers settings and that every speakers is plugged where it should be.
in my case my logitech system was simply set to stereo instead of 6 channel direct.

i'm having this same problem, except a little different.

i'm getting the same sound issues the threadstarter is, but not in any application except flash, and NOT UNTIL I EXPORT. the sound is perfect when i play it in flash. it has to be a setting on my computer, and i can't find it, and it's driving me MAD. please help.

Make sure that, that flash you are viewing, has good sounds quality, does this happen with every single flash film/game you watched/played?
Have you compared it with another computer?

If so can you post your computers specs

also just to make sure, in your 'Volume Control' (double click on the sound icon in the taskbar) and make sure 'Wave' and 'SW Synth' are set to max

    Other things you can try:
    Hardware acceleration?
Virus Scanning / looking for odd looking programs in add/remove programs

Sorry I'm not much help, but if you cant get help here, you should try emailing Adobe customer support
