About 2 weeks ago I started noticing this. I would load up Facebook games and it would take forever. Then, once it did finally load the images were gone and those strange java encoded images were in their place instead. My report log has no indication of crashes during this time, however in the last week I have had a getPlus+R stopped working, a GfxUI APPCRASH, and an HP Advisor APPCRASH. Also been getting many errors. The most recent when trying to reinstall Adobe DLM, I got "Firefox could not install at http://platform.adobe.com/NOS/getPlusPlus/1.6/gp.xpi download error 228".

When I do get to a facebook game it says that I do not have the updated version of the flash player, so I go and uninstall it, restart my computer, reinstall it, restart my computer and still get it. I have done this over 50 times and counting. I keep doing this because every once in a while the flash player does not act up for a couple hours, usually when I install a new browser to sort of "trick" it, I guess. It catches on though...cause today's browser was Opera and it worked great for about 2 hours, earlier in the week I tried safari with some success for about 4 hours. I'm gonna run out of browser options and my time with this trick only seems to get less and less hours from each time I do it.  I have cleared my cache hundreds of times during this process as well. I really do not understand how to check or set the flash player settings though. I would think that they would have a safe default though, because I never installed any adobe products when I got the computer, so I assume they came preinstalled and set properly. Also when I bought this laptop a couple months ago, I got that stupid Norton thing which would tell me to activate it every time I logged on so I said hell with it and activated the trial version just to make it go away. I did this about a week and a half ago and it seems that this is when everything really started to fall apart. There are so many things I have tried that I cannot even begin to list them all. I have downloaded so many other Adobe trials to see if they'll fix the problem, but I don't really even know how to use them or what they are really for. I should mention that I am using Windows 7 and connecting via wifi. I can browse the internet with no problems and watch youtube videos with no problems as well. For the most part, just those facebook games are affected by this. I think it killed some of my drivers though, because I went and downloaded a bunch of intel drivers and one actually flashed "GfxUI" for a moment while it was installing, and that was one of the crashes I got. I really don't know where else to go from here. I have Internet explorer but rarely use it. Kind of hopeless here. I really don't expect any possible solutions to this since no one else seems to be having the same problems. Most people can just uninstall it and reinstall it for it to be fixed in most forums. Well, I guess I'll check back and see if anyone has an answer before I take my computer back under it's supposed warranty.

Ok...this one might be a big find or an overanalysis. When waiting for the game to load up, I always notice a bunch of things that are peculiar...When loading correctly, It just says at the bottom left of my screen things like, "waiting for zynga45" "waiting for facebook.com"...of course I just picked a number on that zynga45 thing...I don't remember what number it really is, but anyway, the strange things it says is, "waiting for cache" immediately after I cleared the cache...ok...not a big find...but tonight I saw something different...it said, "waiting for adsbluelithium.com"...so I immediately signed out of facebook and googled it...I found that adsbluelithium.com is somehow related to adyieldmanager.com. So I looked that up on wikipedia because adbluelithium, I couldn't find on wikipedia...Wikipedia states that adyieldmanager.com is a tracking cookie...I didn't know what a tracking cookie was but I looked at the symptoms on wikipedia and it said, "adyieldmanagercom may attempt to change your computer's desktop, hijack your browser, monitor your Internet browsing activities, change system files and can do so without your knowledge or permission. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to remove all traces of adyieldmanagercom from your computer". I think the part where it said, "hijack your browser" got me the most. It recommended to download a spyware to check for it...but first of all, I don't know which one I'm really looking for, bluelithium or adyield. Also, I promised you I wouldn't do anything drastic before checking with you first. I'm sure much of this makes more sense to you when it only appeared to me as a "red flag". I see those things saying "waiting" all the time...but lately, it doesn't just say one or two things. It circulates through a list of things it's waiting for before the game pops up after a 3-5 minute wait.

Hi, ok on disabling Skype add ons. You should be able to do that in FF also. I don't use FF, but I think you click on Tools and there is a drop down menu? If not, just go to Mozilla.com and search under Support, then Firefox.

Microsoft Security Essentials is the latest from Microsoft and includes Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware. It does not include a Firewall, so you can use the Windows Firewall. It does not have browser add ons installed, so that is a plus. It is easy to use. You can scan whenever you like and it has other settings. I use it and have had no problem.

Before you do that tho, you would want to use the Avast Uninstaller available from there website.

I don't understand the access time you spoke of, it sounds like it is network related which I have no way of knowing.

The adsbluelithium and the adyieldmanager.com is more troublesome, especially the latter. I think this comes from the site and or games. But to be on the safe side, I would go to www.malwarebytes.com and Install the free version. I think when you click on the download free version link it takes you to cnet, but that's ok. Just be sure to SAVE it to your Desktop and use it as a standalone. It is one of the top anti-spyware program and can remove anything it finds. After you have it on your Desktop, turn off any Avast browser monitoring and any realtime monitoring. Then if Malwarebytes has not already updated the definitions, just click on the update icon, then clickon check for updates. When finished updating, run a full scan.

Ok on the removal of CS5. Also before you do any of the above, check in your Add/Remove. Is that Acrobat.com or Adobe.com? Whichever, remove it. If you haven't tried to remove Adobe Support Advisor, remove it. We'll do the Adobe Air/Reader when all others have been removed.

    Thanks,

    Computer Operating System:            Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard

Model: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC

                                                          Rating: 3.3

                                                          Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900@2.20 GHz 2.19 GHz

                                                          Installed Memory(RAM): 2.00 GB

                                                          System Type: 64-bit Operating System

Pen and Touch: No Pen or Touch Input is available for display

    Browsers:                                       Firefox 3.6.6

                                                         Chrome 5.0.375.99

                                                         Opera 10.60

                                                         Safari (Unsure)

                                                         Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385

    Anti-virus:                                       Avast

Not sure if it has a firewall...the only thing I found was a "web shield"

also when I downloaded the Adobe Download Manager...McAfee was checked once...so, well, looks like I have a trial of that as well...and of course, that Norton trial was about the time when everything went wrong. Finally got that uninstalled but with no luck in fixing my problem. Funny thing is that on Chrome, I've had the most luck, but rumor is that it comes java enabled but from most game screens comes a message that I do not have the updated version and from Internet explorer it says that I need to enable java but I've taken the advice of clicking Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level and when I look for the java script that they speak about, it's not there...and scripting is already enabled. I went the entire night having a fairly smooth ride until about an hour ago when it nuts again. All the signs were there the entire night though. I had "limited" use when posting to facebook from the game.
