Good day all. I'm using the latest firefox 5, win xp pro sp3 and flash 10.3. Now im trying to play a game on facebook and it keeps saying Please update your flash player by clicking HERE.Now i've uninstalled flash with the uninstaller and rebooted and reinstalled. I've tried installing 11.1 beta and that didn't help. I installed both same time and that didn't help. i went to the flash site to see if flash is installed and even though it was installed it kept saying install plugin so i did. Then i had shockwave player 10.3 and flash 11.1 beta. Now i've taken everything off and only got 10.3 on. Of course it still doesn't work. I tried removing that npswf32.dll file but that just tells firefox i don't have flash.

contents of C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

Flash10u.ocx

FlashInstall.log

flashplayer.xpt

FlashUtil10u_activeX.dll

FlashUtil10u_activeX.exe

FlashUtil10u_plugin.exe

NPSWF32.dll

I'm crying out in desperation here. I been battling with this for days now. I've tried googling, searching this site and honestly i'm fed up. I've spent hours and lots of bandwith trying to download updates and install files etc etc. Please is there anyone out there that can help me.

Yes it is very annoying to deal with a company that has NO answers.

IT CONSTANTLY CRASHES IN FIREFOX ALSO, THIS QUESTION REMAINS UNANSWERED SINCE 2011.

Why does Adobe refuse to FIX or EVEN answer questions about the constant crashes of Flash/Shockwave.  There is NO way to even contact any sort of tech support.  There are many UNANSWERED variations on this in this useless "Forum." which, it appears, has little or any Adobe answers.  The update today, Oct 13,2018, crashes just as often as the yesterday's version.

EITHER FIX THE ** SOFTWARE, ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OR GIVE US AN ALTERNATIVE

This thread is 7 years old which is completely irrelevant. Flash is now on version 31 so I suggest you open

a new thread and explain clearly what's your issue with a maximum of details.

Actually this problem occurs due to certain errors related to Flash plugin in your system. The corruption in sound drivers and the incorrect registry settings in your Windows also result in Shockwave plugin crash. The guidelines given here will help you to fix the problem at ease.

    * Uninstall the Flash player and active-x plugin. Afterwards reinstall it.

    * Try to change the version of the Adobe Shockwave as sometimes the programs do not function well due to various internal conflicts. Get the most recent version.

    * Update your system drivers

    * Especially update the sound drivers.

The above guidelines allow you to take measures to find an easy solution to the problem.

I also got some help from this article to fix    flash player crash, flash player crashes

    Hope it fix your problem.

    Hello to anyone listening,

I have an identical problem on a Mac, I'll make another post just incase it's a different issue.  unfortunately I've had zero sucess solving this one.

Fox.com gives me the error message:

    Please Update Your Flash Player

but the Adobe Website assures me I am running version 10.3.183.11 and that this is the latest version.  I have un-installed, re-installed and rebooted using both Firefox and Safari, to no avail.

    I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 (64-bit) on a 5 year-old Mac mini.

I'm about ready to try uninstalling the browser, but I'm almost positive this can't be the problem.

Thanks if you can find me.

I'm totally unimpressed with this forum. It took roughly about 4 days  to get this problem fixed due to noone caring enough to actually help. I  do thank those that did reply because you were the ones who tried to  help out of how many people on this forum? I'd tried everything and it  just didn't work. Noone seemed to care and technically this forum is the  only place to get help.

    Now what i did  was

I download Uninstaller program ( from iobit )

Run forced uninstall.Scan for the registry and remove it.

    Reboot PC

run CCcleaner and scan for registry files

Install the flash again and it works.

Well, thank you for your unkind comments!

This is a user forum, and people try to help when they have time and specific ideas about certain problems.  Not everybody of the few regulars is available all the time.

Posting incomplete information also slows things down considerably, and posting the same problem multiple time only wastes the volunteers' time.

I will most certainly ignore you if you ever come back in need for help.

Yip then my post is definitely for people like you. Funny how your reply took a day but my problem was only sorted out 4 days later. I had over 100 views of my post in a few hours. I hardly call that a "few regulars". I think you'd be annoyed if your problem wasn't sorted out either. I think only one person replied which was helpful, the other post i did another one person replied but he was trying to be clever. Multiple posts don't waste volunteers time if noone's replying, now is it? Please think before you post next time, seriously.
