This has been driving me nuts.

I had been having BIG problems in YouTube and MOG (but not with Netflix -- which, of course, uses the [I never thought I'd say it but here I am] superior Silverlight plugin).

Finally, a message popped up in MOG suggesting the rollback to 10.3.

I painstakingly followed all Adobe's instructions for removing Flash (btw, there are a couple mistakes on that page: they mix sys32 and sys64 instructions as though you should do both AND one of the local paths they suggest users cut and paste uses Window\ for Windows\ [missing s breaks it of course])...

But the uninistaller apparently does not remove Flash for Chrome!?!?

So after following Adobe instructions and reinstalling for IE and "all other" Win browsers, I end up with FF and IE running Flash 10.3 as desired (and working) but Chrome is STILL flying 11.3!!!! WTH?

Also, on an unrelated but annoying note -- this edit window is buggy as heck using Firefox. The cursor jumps around unexpectdly, particularly when backspacing.

status: not happy at all

UPDATE: Oh. I GET IT...

Turns out the the latest Flash player -- BUGS AND ALL -- is integrated with Chrome and so the rollback doesn't fix the media stutter issues at all -- and, additionally, breaks Chrome on a HUGE number of websites.

First, YOU GUYS should make it clear that "All other Windows browsers" (but IE) does not include Chrome -- THAT would save an enormous amount of grief!

Second, Google/Chrome need to disengage that integration, since we can't count on Adobe to provide a working Flash player and it's essentially crippling Chrome. That, happily for you, is their problem.

PS... Really this edit window is a DISGRACE as the cursor bug makes writing a real pain.

Thank you; I have corrected that one.

Great, Thanks Pat Willener!

=)

Er,,, I mean great about correcting the error. We'll just have to see how the further bundling goes.(I only use IE for testing, anyhow.)

I do wish I'd been aware that Flash was integrated with Chrome. It would have saved me a lot of installing and uninstalling. You guys might want to make a note that the rollback insructions should say "all non-IE browsers except Chrome" for the non-IE install. Or something.

Anyhow, good luck!

SInce the original 11.3 release, all of my templated ads (AS 3.0) that dynamically load data (logos, URLs, etc.) VIA an XML file are displaying a white blank space (similar to the #43 reply) instead of the loaded images when viewed in Internet Explorer 9. Release .268 and .270 did not fix this issue. Please advise on a resolution... this issue is impacting live running campaigns and is negativly effecting my business and my clients'.

I'll have to wait from Chrome to update again.  They just updated yesterday with the 11.3.31.222 version.  *sigh*

@Mr. 53lfd357ruc7 - Fixes were made for Protected Mode in Flash Player 11.3.300.268.  11.3.300.270 addresses another bug.  If you haven't given 268 a try, please do so and let us know how it works for you.

@ajp1228 - no, our updates or new installs will not re-enable protected mode.  You'll need to edit your mms.cfg to do that.

@beautiful_disaster311 - Chrome is now using a pepper build of Flash Player.  You've got the latest version (270 would make no difference for you.)

How's version 268 working? Well... when my wife mentioned how sluggish and hesitant the Facefook game Bejeweled Blitz was acting so it became unplayable, I upgraded to Flash Player 11.3.300.268 and this seemed to solve everything using Firefox 14. Unfortunately after playing the game a couple of times, it again became sluggish like before unless I constantly cleared the cache, As a result, I uninstalled Flash Player and re-installed version 10.3.183.20 so everything worked smoothly once again with no need to constantly empty the cache. After the past few weeks, I just keep the Flash Player uninstaller and the installer for version 10.3.183.20 in my download folder for quick access as I seem to have to use it fairly frequently. Good luck getting an updated version that solves everything for everyone!

As noted, we've release 11.3.300.270 today.  We're working on getting all the links/pages updated, so expect the msi's shortly .  Here's the announcement post that I hope clarifies the change that was made (just a single fix for the windows crashes that were occuring in FlashPlayerUpadteService.exe)

8/2/2012 - Flash Player 11.3 Update

Thanks,

The last 2 Flash Player 11.3 Updates to the latest .268 version on 26/7/12 have rendered any playback of videos on any website having extreme sound distortion & incessant buffering. On several websites eg LoveFilm, I cannot get any playback - minus sound & vision.

I have Windows XP Media Version 5.1 Service Pack 3 with IE 8.

Please could you address this problem?  I thought the latest .268 update would solve this but if anything it has made matters worse.

I can confirm. I need to rollback now 5000 users due of this broken latest releases from Adobe. This is just crazy. This bug is fully valid ID3212648. This is really crazy that you recommend to go back to 11.2. This means open door for all hackers on your system. Then we don't need to talk about Protected Mode feature at all here. From customer side this situation is not only frustrating. You suggest at the end to open your system due of this buggy releases every time.

The only way is again to rollback with pain to version 10.x as this is secure and works.

Btw, I have raised own bug ID as well as latest release is broken the same way: ID3300735

I am still encountering the FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe crash. I have been updating information on my specific issue in this post, perhaps my information will be of some use.

We believe we've figured out why FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe is causing crashes on user's systems.  We're working now on how/when we can roll out a fix.

Every fix here seems to disable something else. My Macromedia Flash 8 without audio will have to do for now. When I try to install older versions of Flash Player, I loose audio on all flash.

I'll just wait for a complete update.

I had the same problem in Internet Explorer on Windows XP SP3.  When I got Flash Player 11.3.300.268 and played the Flash games on Facebook, the sound was going fine so far; but later, when I played the same Flash games on Facebook, the sound kept skipping and getting choppy and distorted!  I had to uninstall Flash Player for Internet Explorer, but when I tried reinstalling Flash Player 10.3.183.10, it would not install because there was another browser with Flash Player 11.2!  I was forced to uninstall Flash Player for BOTH Firefox AND Internet Explorer so that I had to reinstall Flash Player 10.3 only for Internet Explorer.  The Flash games are now playing normally with no audio skips.  Flash Player 11.3 is getting to be quite a bother indeed!

angeldeb82, I run XP SP3 and use Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 14....like you I have had intermittent audio issues, but Flash Player 11.4 beta 2 has completely rectified them for me (please see Chris' post here on 3rd August)....perhaps give that a try.

I have Adobe Creative Suite 5, which includes Flash Professional. I have never had any occasion to open Flash Professional and use it.

In the past week or two, when surfing the net, I am visiting websites that keep telling me I need to install 11.03 in order to view the website, or interact with it, or whatever.

I have tried at least half a dozen times to install this Flash update by clicking on download - either on the website in question, or by finding it online and downloading it. Every time I install it, my computer malfunctions. When I go back to the websites I wanted to view, I still get messages but they say "do you want to allow this programme to access your computer?". Even if I click "yes", it does not give me access, and the message keeps coming up.

So I had to uninstall it every time.

Today, I opened Flash Professional to see if that needed an update, which it did. I downloaded and installed the update with no problem. However, it seems to have no bearing on the fact that I cannot access some websites without installing 11.03, which, in turn, causes all these unwanted messages and still results in denial of access.

What can I do, please?
