Hello,

No real question, just wanted to submit the problem and what I did about it. Will try updating my Flash Player when 11.9 comes around.

Firefox 23.1 is running on my Vista Home Basic (2gb sdram - 160gb hdd - 2.16GHz). Adobe Flash versions 11.8 and 11.7 left videos choppy or in continual loops or had the sound and picture hopelessly out of sync. I tried all the recommended fixes and no positive results. I clean installed three different versions I had saved in my downloads file, 10.1, 10.3 and 11.1 and each in turn ran just fine. One site in particular (educator.com - an Adobe site) with long tutorials ran best when the video was started only after the recording was buffered in its entirety which was their recommendation . With 11.8 and 11.7 these tutorials were unwatchable. Most tries I couldn't get passed the first thirty seconds before the video reset itself and even then it was to choppy to view. All videos, including YouTube and the mentioned tutorials were working OK on IE9 with its Flash ActiveX.

So, for now I will stay with 11.1 (11.1.102.55 released 11-10-2011) and deal with the pop up telling me this version is not secure. At least the pop up allows me to give permanent permissions to the sites I choose. On other sites it will be a good reminder to be careful where I browse.   ~Kim

Check your other Add-ons to see if something is conflicting. I use "AniWeather" and it causes videos to go "choppy" any time there is an alert and the icon starts to blink.

Hello C F -   Thank you for your reply. I tried the "restart (Firefox) with Add-ons Disabled..." had no other applications running and had only one tab opened. The Flash on that page worked with 11.1, but not with the extended 11.7 or the newest 11.8 release. In this particular case it may be just a quirk of my machine. I'll try again with the next release. Thanks again and take care.   ~Kim
