For the past two days I have been trying to down load the free Flash Player to my computer. I go through the process, it tells me it has successfully downloaded, but I neer get the little movie that the download says I will get. When we try to open www.nick.com and other sites, it says that we need to download Flash Player. We have done this over and over. Everything worked fine last week but not now. I uninstalled a previous version as I was told to do in the troubleshooting section and changed settings as instructed. Please help

    Correct answer
I discovered, by searching other forums for help, that my using "Add/Remove" programs wasn't a sufficient way to remove the old version of Flash Player. At least not on my system. I was sent to the following URL, where I uninstalled Flash Player, then finally was able to sucessfully reinstall, and now it works:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

Has anyone figured this out or gotten an answer that works? I am going out of my mind. Everyone is describing exactly what is happening to me. I do not have Vista at work or at home, but both systems are doing the exact same thing. I'm really frustrated.

THE ANSWER ON THIS THREAD WORKS!!! The missing link is that you have to REBOOT after you run the uninstall. Mine is working!!! Amen!

Finally I got the stupid flashplayer problem fixed. Follow the instructions at the top of this forum. Unistall the installer and then go back to the install page, i know that this sound familiar, and reinstall this program again. Hope this helps.

I have been able to get flash installed.

In the thread above download the unistaller and the installer.
    Uninstall and then reboot.
Don't just double click the installer extract the .exe file and right click on it and choose run as. Choose to run as the administrator it may ask for a password enter it. It will install. Now reboot.
This worked for me and I have done everything include f&*k around with my registry.

I don't know what happened. I had gone to another site looking at a different program to open this same type of file. It was called IrfanView on web site www.irfanview.com. I downloaded it but it still didn't seem to be working. When I tried to view the earlier file that had been sent to me, all of a sudden the Adobe installer appeared and Adobe FlashPlayer was downloaded and I could view the file. I checked one other file I had been trying to view and I was also able to view it too. Earlier I had also downloaded an older version (flashplayer9r115_win) of Adobe at a site called download.oldapps.

I am have the same problem. I've been trying to download for a while now, but it still wont work. The movie wont popup when i download, but a little box that says "installation complete" with some numbers does. I see a little red F popup where the movie is supposed to be, but then a yellow bar like the ActiveX bar pops up and it say that it wont let the site use ActiveX in an unsafe way, and the Red F goes away. I found something to fix the problem, but what the thing told me to do doesn't work. I'm using windows XP

I am running Windows XP and cannot load Flash Player? Tried everything posted here? Adobe is no help? You would think they would care that you can't run Flash?
