Flash Player 9 problem

After installing Flash Player 9 successfully (according to Adobe install page), sites that are asking for it to play content are still asking for it, as if it was not installed. I'm using IE7, and player is listed in 'Add-Ons' and enabled. Have also tried installing the Flash Player a second time.
This is on a laptop running Vista Home Premium.
Can anyone help?
Thanks very much in advance.

I do have the same problem.
    I use WIN Vista Home.
However the problem is only with IE7.
When I use the FireFox2 it seems to be working fine.
That means it could be that the problem relies with IE7
