I've just bought a new computer which came with Vista Premium OS. Problem I'm having is everytime I require flash player to load on a website, it asks for a later version. Obviously I have made several atttemps to download Flash Player 9 but without success! I've unistalled it and retried but without success! The download process proceeds without a problem but I do notice in the adobe window it says "do you want to download plash player", not flash player 9! Anyway I've reseached adobe support notes but still I've had no success. Some websites promt me and ask do I have java script turn on or upgrade to a later veersion. AAnyway I give up trying to solvve this one, HELP.

Cheers,
Mark

To cure flash player problem with Vista. Open c:windows/system32/macromed/flash.

Ensure all IE7 windows are closed.

Then run flashutil9c. This will update your copy of Flash Player. It will then ask you to restart your computer and it will then work on all sites.

OK, so I had the same problem on Vista Business.

Here is the solution, you need a stand alone install.

First you need to unistall all previous flash players, here is the uninstaller link: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe. This should be run with a "/clean" at the end and from a command prompt.

Then you need to install the beta version flash player which is the same as what is on the Active X install page. The link for this download is: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer9_update/flashplayer9_install_activex_061107.exe

The full Adobe Labs document is here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9_ax.html

    Happy Browsing.

Are you running a 64 bit operating system? I just purchased a new computer running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I receive a message that Flash Player is not supported in 64 bit yet. Although the error message advises that I can install and run FP in a 32 bit browser, I cannot figure out how to open / run in 32 bit format. Any ideas?

Text It is frustrating!!! I have the same problem and there is no answer from Adobe. I even tried calling but they will not respond to Flash Player problems over the phone. I hope there is someone out there that will come up with a solution.

The only positive result I found is that it will load and play in Firefox, we wait and hope for a solution in IE7
