Flash Player 9 Won't Install on MacOS X (Intel)

I received an alert trying to open a video on MSN that I didn't have the Flash plugin installed (which I, in fact, did). I clicked the link to download the new Flash 9 and was re-directed to the Adobe Flash Player download page. I installed the player and it seemed to go fine. However, now I get error messages when opening pages containing Flash in Safari and Firefox stating that I don't have the Flash plugin installed. I tried installing the plugin from within Firefox, and it gives me a message every time stating that the "Install Failed". I have used the Un-Installer, restarted between un-installs and installs and I can't get the plugin to install whatever I do. Using MacBook Pro, MacOSX 10.4.9, Safari 2.0.4, Firefox 2.0.0.3
Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks.

I just answered my own question. I had to log in as root in order for the Flash Player plugin to install inside the Internet Plugins folder.
If anyone else has a similar problem, maybe this will help.
