Flash player Audio issues

Hey guys , I'm having issues with the flash player in terms of sound on Chrome. Every time i try to play videos on YouTube (or any other video playing site using Chrome) this popping/crackle sound keeps coming up and it's driving me nuts. I've tried everything from disabling/enabling current plugin to re installing Chrome with no change. it works fine on other web browsers (Internet Explorer/Safari) but not Chrome. never had this issue in my entire time having my pc (8 years and going strong) until recent updates. i have seen older posts about this issue but their solutions are outdated and do not work. If anyone recently has had this issue and has a fix i would really appreciate it!
