Flash Player cannot be loaded

Good evening everybody,

unfortunately I can't watch any videos or content via the Flash Player in my browser. My configuration is:

- Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

- Chrome (46.0.2490.86 m (64-bit))

- Adobe Flash Player 19.0.0.245

I already tried to reinstall the Flash Player and Chrome.

The plugin is activated under "chrome://plugins" and I tested several guides I found on the support pages.

I still get the message that the plugin couldn't be loaded and can't activate it.

Do you have any suggestions what I could do? Or is there anyone with the same problem?

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

Please share the Flash URL for which this issue occurs.

What is the exact issue you are facing while playing videos?

Hi,

first of all, thanks for the answer.

An example is every stream on twitch like Twitch

The only thing I can see there is

Another example is the page Adobe - Testen Sie Adobe Shockwave Player, where I try to test the Flash Player.

In can't see the flash animation but I automatically download a file called "dir.dcr".

Shockwave and Flash are different products.  They both have origins in the same company back in the '90s (Shockwave), and there's some legacy naming there that can't be changed for technical reasons, hence the confusion.

Anyway, the .dcr file is an Adobe Director file, which requires Shockwave Player, not Flash Player.

I don't work on Shockwave, so I don't know for sure, but I don't think they have a PPAPI plug-in.  Chrome dropped NPAPI support for plug-ins about a year ago, so I'm not sure that a solution for playing back Shockwave content in the context of Chrome exists at this point for the average end-user.  You may need to use Firefox, or IE to view this content.
