Flash Player constantly asking to be upgraded 2018

Over the last week I have installed the latest version of FlashPlayer 4 times and still I am getting requests to "upgrade" to the latest version 30.0?

What on earth is going on - it's very irritating? I have access to a company account and a personal account - could this be causing an issue?

How are you being prompted to update?  Is it a notification update window when you first log into the system?  Is it a web page prompting you to update?

There are 3 different plugins, for the various browser types.  If a notification update window is displaying upon log in, it's possible this is for the various plugin types.  Please provide a screenshot of the Flash Player Settings Manager > Updates tab:

    • Windows: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items > Flash Player > Updates
      • If you do not see the Flash Player item, change view settings to view by 'small icons'
    • Mac: System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates

If it's the browser, prompting, most browser's block Flash Player by default, forcing users to enable Flash, usually for each site.  See the tech note Flash Player Help for links to enable Flash in the various supported browsers.

If neither of these solves the issue, please provide the following:

    Thank you.

    1. Be aware that most "you must upgrade Flash" warnings are attempts to get you to install malware.

    2. If you have Microsoft Edge you cannot download an update from Adobe, only Microsoft.

    3. Otherwise, after a warning go to http://get.adobe.reader/flash. If it succeeds you are now up to date and anything claiming otherwise should be treated with suspicion.
