Flash player crash/not respond when stream netflix

Hi. So i have a mac with the latest yosemite updates. I have been using google chrome although the problem may not be specific to this browser. When i attempt to watch videos from netflix/ crunchyroll type streams, i am immediately given the message shockwave not responding, with the option to stop the plugin. Using this option causes shockwave to then immediately report a crash. I have tried:

-Reintalling flashplayer

-Reinstalling google chrome

-Restarting the computer

-I have gone to about:plugins in google chrome to see if multiple flashplayer files are being read. (Only one was listed)

-I updated Yosemite

-Searched for Malware

This problem has persisted since this morning. Any help would be great.
