I have installed the new Flash Player on my 64 bit Win 7 laptop. Before new install, I had no problems. I use Mozilla Firefox version 3.6.8. After I install the new Flash player for Firefox, I do not exit out of Firefox, ,everything looks good. Applications work. After I exit out of Firefox, restart Firefox then Adobe crashes. After I restart the computer, I get a strange message which states, "The new Java Plug-In Requires a recent version of Firefox browser (Firefox 3 or later)." Adobe contunues to crash and this message does not go away. I have verified that I have Firefox 3.6.8 installed and I have reinstalled Firefox 3.6.8. Please help. No issues before new plug-in install. Now I get Adobe Flash Crashes without end.

Thanks

Hi, Check in Task Manager if you have the plugin-container.exe there.  Also verify that you have the correct Flash Player files Installed. Go go C:\Windows\SysWOW\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed. The NPSWF files need a right click and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.

Using FF(Firefox) look for the SWF plugin vs 10.1.53.64 and make sure it is Enabled.

Do you have Flash Player Installed in Internet Explorer also?

You may want to look in Programs and Features and post back all Java entires with version numbers.

When you speak of no issues before new plug-in, are you speaking of Flash Player or Firefox?

    Thanks,

Thank you for responding to my question. First, I cannot find plugin-container.exe in my Task Manager Processes tab. This file does not appear at this point in time in my Task Manager.

Here are the files listed in the directory which you asked. BTW my SysWOW folder is SysWOW64:

    FlashplayerTrust   -  File Folder

    Flash10b.ocx

    FlashInstall.log

    flashplayer.xpt

    FlashUtil10b.exe

    FlashUtil10h_Plugin.exe

    install.log

    NPSWF32.dll

    uninstall_activeX.exe

I right-clicked on the MPSWF file, but version numbers did not appear. Shockwave is at the current 10.1.53.64.version and is enabled. Yes, I do have Flash installed on Internet Explorer with no issues. Things seem fine in the Explorer world, but I use Firefox for my browser. When I speak of no issues in the past, I am stating that I have had no issues with Firefox or Flash in the past.

    Thank you for your assistance.

Hi, LOL, that I left the 64 out. I was getting ready to leave for an appointment and was in a hurry:-) Glad you found it anyway.

Ok on the plugin-container not being there.

Your Flash files show old Flash Player versions for IE and the FlashUtilh_Plugin.exe is the latest version for FF. The NPSWF32.dll doesn't have the version number.

The SWF plugin for FP in the FF plugins is also the latest version of FP.

The message you are receiving from Java would seem to indicate that they are detecting something other than the FF vs 3.6.8. Not sure what that is all about.

I think it would be in your interest to do a clean Uninstall/Install of FP for both  browsers, but to use the offline links that you SAVE to your Desktop and run from there.

What Anti-Virus program do you use? This may have caused a conflict since the old Flash Player files for IE did not get removed so the latest could be Installed.

You must be the Administrator and use the Administrator Account for Installing Flash Player.

    Thanks,
