Flash Player doesn't run

I can't watch any type of video except when I go to youtube. I click on play and I get no response. And I have the same problem on Ubuntu as well...

    Besides Ubuntu, what other OS are you using?  What browser are you running?  Finally, what version of Flash is reported as installed?

    Besides Linux, I use Windows 7. I encounter the problem on Google Chrome, while everything runs fine on Mozilla Firefox. The version of flash I have is 11.3.31.331 on Chrome and 11.2.202.238 on Firefox.
