Flash Player doesn't work

It is not there. Is not available in Add-ons in Firefox "Tools" in menu option. Can't run any Flash on internet

sites using the browsers I have now.

iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
32bit Color depth

Browsers:
Firefox 3.6.19
Flock 2.6.2
Safari 4.1.2
Opera 10.63
The flashplayer I am installing is the one on your site I imagine it is 10

I have professional Flash from CS3 and if I open a .swf on my machine  it opens in Flash Player 9

I  uninstalled the Flash Player as instructed (for browser use) and there is a blank screen and are no Flash players showing

up on your "check what version Flash Player you have or if it is installed" site.

In Firefox preferences under applications and file handling I don't see any Flash player options to choose (in dropdown lists) for handling files.

Pop-ups etc...checked off.

I have been stuck on this problem for the last 2 days and counting.

Is there a Professional Flash app conflict?

    Hello friends,

Finally got the time to try to install Flash Player again. I tried to install

the 10.3 for Intel Mac but I kept getting the alert that I needed to install

    for a PPC

    (I have an Intel iMac)

So, just installed the 10.2.159 from the archives

(plug-in) and VOILA! ahhh!!! Flash again!!!

Yea! Learned some things too. Got to keep up.

I did notice from the "get info" on the install icon downloaded from Firefox

that "open with Rosetta" was checked. Now, I had that unchecked

on my Firefox (open in Finder and check "more info") and uncheck

open with Rosetta. So I am thinking it is somehow checked in your install

icon ??? I unchecked it closed the install icon and opened it back up

and it remained unchecked. Don't know if that is a problem. I downloaded

the Flash Player with it (owR) unchecked.

All four of my browsers had open with Rosetta "checked" and non of them

worked at all. As soon as I opened the "get info"  and "more info" and unchecked

the "open with Rosetta" check box ~ IT WORKED for all browsers. I will try to

see if the newest version will download for me and try that one again.

Make sure you look at the Icon get info and see if that will help if you

    have problems.

(Had to uncheck another box from the info for the install Flash Icon too)

I did find out that the  File system formats are an issue for support

for the newer OS systems. The journaled extended like HFS+ I don't

think are supported for Lion or even Snow leopard. (So confusing)

I thought that was Unix. Trying to see if I can upgrade OS's but I

think I need to have a different file system format for my machine.

    It really isn't that slow.

    Yea! Flash again!!! YEA

    running on Mac OS 10.4.11

I am looking at your link, thank you for advice and will explore. Thanks

It doesn't work, maybe the browsers are cached at the servers?

    In Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin it says Version is 10.3.181.34

Not working, just see a blank screen where internet swf files should come up.

Have you also tried the following Browser?

    Google:

    http://www.google.com/chrome

It supports Flash automatically without the need to install any plugins or controls.  If you install it then visit a site such as YouTube to see if you can watch videos in that site.  YouTube uses the Flash Player to play its videos (even though I have heard that some YouTube videos can be played using HTML5).

When Chrome came out the requirements were Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later, I have Mac OSX 10.4.11 (the processor

is too slow for 10.5) now I have an officially slow computer. (ha)

I haven't had to get plug-ins for Flashplayer for a long time.

Firefox and Flock and Safari would do it automatically.

Opera has never run Flash and never got videos to work in Opera.

Couldn't find any diskimages or icons for  Flash Player 10.3. The install  said it was successful.

I found Flash version 9 (for CS3) but not available to browser.

Need a work around to view some flash movies though. Lynda.com has Quicktime available option

to run the instructional videos. I need to add workarounds for viewing flash videos that are on the web.

It seems that this problem will take a while to solve. Good luck and hurry up.

    ---

Adding to this post, Found the Plug-in version 10.3.181.34 "declared" in the "Other" area

of the Dock's System Preferences. Still cannot get it to open or play any Flash on the web.

If anyone has found other sites to reconfigure playing content (which files and how to do this on

different browsers) Post it so I may find it too. Quicktime and Flip4mac gets a dusting off.

I wish I had saved some Flash movies in different formats to run, it doesn't seem that this

problem will be easy to solve.

Would a stand-alone rather than a plug-in be the answer? Not a programmer.

    ---

The installer is one I have not seen before. Maybe the installer is the culprit.

Is there a site count for people who can't get Flash Player to work anymore?

Has this been an ongoing problem for years? 10.0 was a problem.

Did you go to this page in Firefox?

    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?term=flash+player&siteSection=home&loc=en_us

... and then click "Download Now" using Firefox?
