Flash player download error

My system does not show a flash player in the control panel. When I attempted to download a flash player it says that it is already installed.I can not play games on-line because it tells me I need an updated flash player. What can I do when I keep getting the same message from you saying it is already installed ?

Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.

For MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

For Windows : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Restart the machine.

Download and Re-install Flash Player.

Restart the browser and check.
