My flash player downloads but when I check for it in Control Panel, all that shows is Flash Player Active X and in the left hand corner there's a little red X. When I watch anything, my picture and audio is choppy. Do anyone know what I should do to fix this problem?

I am having this same problem. My computer use to play flash videos fine but then one day it just started being really choppy. I use Firefox so I tried it in IE and it did the same thing. Every site I go to that uses Flash videos it always messes up including CBS.com, NBC.com, Youtube.com. I really wish somebody could help us out here.

I have the problem too and did a search for help on it. The solution they gave is to disable hardware acceleration:

If you have display problems with Flash Player, such as poor picture quality or slow display times, deselect Enable Hardware Acceleration in the Display panel. This should eliminate hardware or driver compatibility problems with Flash Player. Flash Player then uses software to scale and display the content.
How can I display this panel again?

    To view the Display panel:

    1. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) the application image during playback.
    2. From the context menu, select Settings. The Display panel is the first panel shown.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that doesn't fix the problem either. But I wish there is a way to check to see if my video card is actually using it's hardware acceleration forreal or not because I have a pretty high end graphic card. 8600GT

I'm also experiencing this problem. It used to be smooth when I watch hi def streaming content from vimeo.com but now, its all choppy and so does the audio. I have a pretty decent computer running Windows Vista Home, Nvidea Geforce 8600 GT and a 6Mb/s DSL. Please, someone respond.

I'll add that I'm having the same problem. The video and audio is choppy or stutters on one site. It is the site for a very popular golf club manufactuer. I have the same problem on two different very good computers. I have e-mailed the web site and adobe but neither have responded.
